Welcome to Kentfield

An ideally situated, unincorporated community of Marin, Kentfield encompasses three distinct neighborhoods and is highly desired for its climate, award-winning school district, close proximity to open space, and easy commute to highway 101. The College of Marin, part of the 23 acres of land donated by the Kent family, is centrally located in the town and has been providing educational opportunities since 1926. In addition to its excellent 2-year program, the community of Kentfield and Marin as a whole benefit from the College’s strong arts program and performances as well as an extensive community program.

Neighborhoods include Kentfield Gardens, located on the south side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard sandwiched between Bacich Elementary and Kent Middle School, an ideally convenient location for families with school-age children. The Del Mesa area is located on the north side of Sir Francis Drake. This bucolic neighborhood is centered along leafy Laurel Grove. Distinctive for its large estate homes and convenient central Kentfield location. Kent Woodlands is nestled along the perimeter of Mt. Tamalpais, where you will find this exclusive community. Noted for its large private lots, custom-built homes, fabulous views, and direct access to open space trails. A plus for this neighborhood is the Woodlands Market & Cafe, situated as a central gathering spot, right across the street from the College of Marin.

Kentfield residents are served by Basich Elementary School, Kent Middle School, and Redwood High School which is part of the award-winning Tamalpais High School District. Learn more about the Kentfield School District here.
